You don’t have to be a world class swimmer to enjoy owning a pool. In fact there are a lot of things that are so great about it that don’t even involve actual swimming. Fountain Blue Pools list these five benefits of pools:

1. You don’t have to swim to work out in a pool. You can jog. Many runners will use a pool to run if they get injured so they can do something similar to running but is low impact. You can get the aerobic exercise without the fear of injury. The same can be said for yoga. People who might not be able to do that on land can do it in a pool.

2. It’s great to relax the mind and destress. Just floating in a pool is a relaxing experience. There is a reason fountains are in all the Zen gardens. Just the sound of running water tells our minds to chill.

3. You know what’s in the water. Enough said.

4. It’s a great treatment for insomnia. When your body drifts off to sleep, it cools down. This is also happens in a pool so when you emerge, you are sleepy. No more Ambient for you.

5. Now your house is the cool one on the block. Who doesn’t have fond memories from childhood of family parties by someone’s pool? It didn’t have to be yours to enjoy it.
